1994-2010 - Celebrating 17 years of teaching!
"Is Today a Kindermusik Day"
|
Young children around the world are asking that very question every day. That’s because Kindermusik children can’t wait to sing, move, explore, express, create and simply experience the incredible power of music.
When it comes to choosing your child’s activities, the options seem endless. One choice provides more ways for your child to grow and thrive than any other. Kindermusik.
As the world’s most respected name in musical learning. Kindermusik has been enriching lives with the most carefully researched, developmentally based music program. From birth to age 7, children can experience the magic of music without the pressure to perform just the encouragement and guidance to stretch their boundaries with creativity and fun!

Imagine the aroma of baking cookies, the coziness of the family kitchen, the chatter among sisters, brothers and grandmas, granddads, mom and dad, and the anticipation and excitement of having friends come to visit. These moments at home at home are times to be shared and treasured. These special moments are captured in Milk & Cookies.
As in the previous units of Our Time, the central focus of Milk & Cookies is the toddler's need for security balanced with his need for independence. Milk & Cookies songs and activities promote interaction between parent and child where the parent gently guides their child's learning and the process of scaffolding takes place. Capturing the security, excitement and familiarity of "at home" moments is the ideal theme for empowering the parent to act as teacher through scaffolding. What better way for parents to lead their child than with familiar, everyday home activities such as cooking in the kitchen, dusting and washing clothes?
Home Materials: The child's at home materials are packaged in their own distinctive kit. The Milk & Cookies At Home kit consists of a Home Activity book, 2 CDs, 2 literature books and a stir xylophone. These items are packaged together in a high quality, deep purple insulated lunch bag.

ABC Music & Me, an award-winning enrichment program for 2 to 6 year olds, was designed for early childhood learning centers, but can also be taught in a Kindermusik classroom. ABC Music & Me is a research-based language and early literacy program built around music. ABC Music & Me helps develop pre-literacy and language skills through a child’s most-loved rituals: music and storytime.
ABC Music & Me supports the early childhood standards and requirements for “high quality programs” as defined by the National Institute for Early Education. Plus for the older age group, ABC Music & Me aligns with pre-K national and state standards.
Make a Parade: We’ll listen to marching music, play pretend parades, and help your preschooler develop rhythm and coordination skills.
The ABC Music & Me Home Kit contains a variety of age-appropriate literature, activities, and games all tied to the class content. If it’s sharing a story from class, listening or singing together, the home kit allows a parent to be involved in the learning process in your child’s first and foremost classroom at home.

Semester Tow
At this age, the young child learns music best when he is actively engaged in making music! Songs and activities that encourage solo singing are "We Sing Hello," "Ten in the Bed," "We Are Dancing" and "Good-bye." Songs and activities that reinforce tonal or rhythmic concepts for music reading and writing are "Lucy Locket," "Mouse Mousie," "Ten in the Bed," "Go to Sleep" and "Sing and Celebrate." Songs that encourage echoing or a response are "Che Che Koolay," "I Have a Little Melody" and "We Are Dancing." Songs that are playful or familiar and call the children into joyful participation are "Jingle Bells," "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," "Happy Birthday, "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmitt," and "If You're Happy and You Know It." Songs used in singing games are "Lucy Locket," "Mouse, Mousie" and "Circle Round the Zero." Beethoven is our featured composer as we listen to "Symphony No. 6." Other listening selections include "The William Tell Overture" by Rossini, "The Four Seasons" by Vivaldi, "The Elephant" from "Carnival of the Animals" by Saint-Saens, "Peter and the Wolf" by Prokofiev and "The Young Perons's Guide to the Orchestra" by Britten. Other listening repertoire includes listening to the woodwind and string families and their individual instruments. Children delight in moving to original compositions for learning concepts, "Piano and Forte Dance" and "Dancing Staccato and Legato." Two highlights are the instrumental ensembles, "The Elephant and the Waterfall" where children make sounds to express the story and "Sing and Celebrate," an ensemble for singing and playing different parts. Concepts in Semester 2 are piano/forte, crescendo/decrescendo, staccato/legato, graphic notation and reading the traditional rhythms of quarter and eighth notes and quarter rest and staff reading of f, g, a, c and d.

About the Educator

She has taught all of the Kindermusik curricula for over ten years and has personally taught nearly 1,000 students. Classes are held in Richfield and in Fairlawn on weekdays and Saturday mornings throughout the year.
Daniels Music Studio is owned and operated solely by “Miss Ellen” and each student receives the benefit of her decade of Kindermusik experience. She continues her training through bi-annual teacher conventions and classes offered by Kindermusik International.
What is Kindermusik?
Kindermusik initially was developed in Germany and was brought to the U.S. in 1976 by Dan Pratt, Kindermusik’s founder. Based on research and input from many early childhood music and behavioral experts, Kindermusik brings a variety of musical and sensory experiences to every child who participates.
Each class includes opportunities for individual playing, singing, and listening while learning at his or her own pace. At every level, the Kindermusik curriculum respects and mirrors your child’s inner world with a secure, stimulating environment.
The goal isn’t to make your child a musician, but to make your child more eager to learn, more awake and wholly alive in his or her world.
Music is a dynamic sensory experience that evokes a powerful response in young children. In fact, early exposure to music is a vehicle for profound learning. Imprinted on the receptive mind and body of your child, the beat of a drum and the clear tone of a bell can reverberate across a lifetime. And research has shown that music provides a strong foundation for cognitive skills useful in many disciplines throughout your child’s lifetime.
Come and see for yourself what Kindermusik can mean to you and your child.
